   We have all heard about the Mediterrean diet in the news lately. We have done some research and have come up with some interesting info. It's not the dieting that helps you lose weight it's how its cooked.

   Mediterrean food is the healthiest food in the world. People born in Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey among a few eat alot of vegetables, fruit and fish, not to mention they only use heart healthy olive oil for cooking. They also eat protein rich legumes and whole grains with a moderate amounts of wine and red meat. The flavors are rich and the health benefits for people choosing a Mediterrean diet are hard to ignore. They are less likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol or become obese. Alot of the towns in these countries, the people living there will either walk or ride a bike to work, to shop or visit family and friends, etc. 

   If you want to get a healthier diet and activity these are a few ways to start. Plan menus for the week and adjust your grocery list accordingly. It may be hard at first but keep working on it and soon it will be a way of life. Go  with little bits at a time and you to can be healthier. My family is trying it and they are starting to like to new way of cooking.
